 Our Farm

Our 15 acre farm is located in Penn Valley, CA at the end of a long road and is surrounded by open pastures on all sides. Behind us is a 200 acre Long Horn cattle ranch, where sometimes the young steer like to come up to the fence line and say hello.  We raise Nigerian Dwarf goats, Jersey dairy cows, miniature Highland cattle, chickens for eggs and meat, heritage turkeys, miniature horses, and we also have a retired racehorse!  It is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful from all angles. The property features a pond, playground, large garden, green house and barn. Parents are welcome to stay during class time and either participate with us or enjoy our seated patio overlooking the beautiful views.

Hello, I'm Valerie!

A homeschooling mama to three wonderful children and wife to a busy businessman.

Growing up in the city, I never imagined I'd find myself living in the countryside, let alone owning a farm and growing our own food and animals. But God had plans for us!

After years of living in those concrete jungles of bustling cities, our family made the life-changing decision to move back to my husband's hometown in Grass Valley, CA. We quickly fell in love with the homesteading lifestyle and decided to give it a go. Well, you know how that goes...the animals keep accumulating and the garden grows bigger each year!

We now love sharing our farmlife experience with others.

And I truly believe that all of us, no matter what our backgrounds, can learn to raise animals, grow food and become more self-sufficient in this busy world we live in.
